Turbine Generator Maintenance, Inc. (TGM) Announces New Offering of Union Services

Cape Coral, Florida – October 4, 2006 – Turbine Generator Maintenance, Inc. (TGM) announced today that the company has expanded its capability to include union labor. The creation of a union subsidiary allows TGM to provide both union and non-union workforces for steam and combustion turbine generator field services. The company’s expansion into Union work was initially driven by customers’ requests. “In order to better serve our existing customers and to expand into union facilities, TGM proudly launches our union subsidiary.” stated TGM President Merrick Alpert.
In August of 2006, TGM signed a union labor agreement with the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America. "On behalf of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America, I am proud that Turbine Generator Maintenance has added union labor to the company's business. We look forward to providing the finest millwrights in the power sector as Turbine Generator Maintenance expands throughout the United States," stated Douglas J. McCarron, General President of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America.
In September of 2006, TGM commenced its first union job for Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) at the TH Allen Fossil Plant in Memphis, Tennessee. The work entailed a major inspection on one of the facility’s General Electric frame 7 units. At the successful completion of this job it was made evident that TGM would be able to offer the same great service that TGM has provided for the past twenty years, to both union and non-union power generation facilities. Ronald C. Hall, General Manager of TVA Combustion Turbines commented: “TVA is pleased to have TGM bidding our work. Consistent with TVA agreements that require union contractors to perform much of the TVA mechanical maintenance work, TGM has now successfully offered a union solution that meets our contractual requirements.”
