Borescope Inspections

The borescope inspection is a great preventative maintenance tool. Below are several different ways that a borescope inspection can be used to enhance your maintenance plan.

  • As a stand alone, it is a great way to periodically check your unit for problems with minimal disassembly, cost and downtime.

  • Many facilities choose to perform borescopes six months prior to the start of a major inspection to help reduce the unknown issues that have to be dealt with during the inspection. Knowing about an issue prior to opening your machine can save time and money.

  • Borescopes can also be used in minor inspections of generators. Removing access panels or end bells can allow a borescope of your stator end windings, stator body, and rotor.

TGM can provide borescope inspections as stand alone outages or as part of another inspection by providing a Technical Director and equipment to inspect your machine. At your request, we can also provide labor to facilitate the required access to your machine.
